Noren sake and sushi bar is taking over the Roji space in Mayfair

Noren sake and sushi bar is taking over the Roji space in Mayfair

We'd been wondering what would happen to Roji omakase bar, since chefs Tamas Naszai and Tomoko Hasegawa moved over to open the excellent Himi in Carnaby - and now we know.

Next door to Chisou in Mayfair, Roji won't be relaunching as an omakase bar. Instead, much like Himi, it's going to become a little less high-end and reopen as Noren sake and sushi bar. Now, it will have an a la carte approach, with a drinks list of sake, shochu, wine and beer alongside. They'll also be launching their makazu sushi here, which is like a mini open hand-roll, served on a little wooden platter.

Otherwise, the space remains the same and it's a beautiful room. You can book for just two people or, if you fancy, grab the whole space (which only seats 10 people anyway). At the moment, it's on Fridays and Saturdays only, with more days to follow.
