They've only recently opened in the City, but BAO already have their next venture lined up and it's a little different from their recent openings.
They're coming to Market Halls Victoria with BAO Night Market, which they say is inspired by "the grab-and-go spirit of Taiwan’s bustling night markets". They'll be concentrating on their bao buns, but those will be a little different here, firstly because they're going to be doubled up. There's a double prawn BAO, a double stack daikon BAO, and a double stack pork BAO, the latter of which will have thick slices of glazed pork belly (wipes drool off keyboard).
This latest opening will also have what they're calling Big BAOs. Those will be a choice between fried chicken or panko-crumbed aubergine tossed in a soy garlic glaze. The menu will also feature Taiwanese fried chicken with slaw and hot sauce as well as fries with curry sauce and chilli crisp. Rounding everything up, they'll have caramelised brown sugar Taiwanese bubble tea and peanut milk soft serve.
As we've come to expect from BAO, it should all look pretty impressive with lots of stainless steel in the design. So if you find yourself craving something from BAO before your train at Victoria station, you'll know where to go.
