Updated 7/6/24 with opening date and more details
Richard Caring may be looking to sell off his Ivy restaurants, but that doesn't mean he's out of the restaurant business. Just after we've heard about his plans to re-open Le Caprice, now he's getting ready to open a new Harry's.
This Harry's sees him taking the brand to Belgravia, opening in Terminal House in Grosvenor Gardens, one of the big developments just opposite Victoria station. Called Harry's Victoria, the version seems more like Harry's Dolce Vita than the original bar, and it's going to be the biggest Harry's yet.
Like the others, this will be all about Italian dining, surrounded by a 50s-inspired decor. The dishes will include plenty of Harry's favourites, including gamberi e ‘nduja, oven baked prawns in a creamy ‘nduja sauce. They'll also have lobster ravioli, truffled chicken and the Harry's Toadstool for dessert.
The Victoria Harry's will also have a separate bar, which will be extremely handy for commuters and the area in general could definitely do with a few more decent bars. There, they'll have a new aperitivo menu which will be exclusive to Victoria. As for drinks, they'll be led by twists on classics like the Sicilian Margarita (Altos Tequila Plata, Pierre Ferrand dry curacao, Select aperitivo, blood orange purée, lime, tajin).
Clearly, this will be a very handy smart Italian restaurant for commuters (and will certainly expect to make the most of the pre/post theatre crowd).
