Flowerhouse opens in Marylebone from the people behind The Light Bar

Flowerhouse opens in Marylebone from the people behiind The Light Bar

The people who opened The Light Bar in Shoreditch earlier this year have quietly opened their second place - a new pub across town in Marylebone.

Flowerhouse looks quite different from your standard British pub though - the name lends its hand to the striking design with a bright look and flowery wallpaper throughout. The pub also has a female-led team, with an aim to "support women from all backgrounds and ages to get their first (or returning) step on the hospitality ladder" as well as a space where "a woman should feel entirely comfortable having a drink there on their own".

For the moment, there will just be snacks, with a full food menu launching in early 2022. Their cocktails will include a Flowerhouse Spritz (Absolute Blue, Lillet Blanc, caramelised orange, with a Prosecco top) and the Marylebone (Manhattan-style - Chivaz Regal, Lillet Rouge, Cherry Herring with citrus twist). They're also aiming for an elevated wine list with options including Tripelpunkt Riesling and Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc, to Massale Pinot Noir, Barbaresco Basarin by the glass. They'll also have their own beer - the Flowerhouse Pale Ale.

Sounds like something quite fresh - well worth popping in for a drink if you're in the area.
