After being moved on from Portobello (only after he'd made a dormant site successful again), Stevie Parle has brought back Joy, this time to Marylebone in a new guise.
Joy is now going to be both a plant shop and cafe (you'll find it where LK Bennett used to be). Alongside the plants, there will be a small seasonal menu on offer (with lots available to take away), including some dishes you'll recognise from their Portobello pop-up:
- Acton burrata, slow cooked peppers & tomato
- Aubergine Caponata
- Ajo blanco (a chilled almond soup) with sherry vinegar, cherries and fennel flowers
- Dorset clams cooked in fino sherry with guanciale & chickpeas
- American cherry pie and clotted cream
The cafe will be open from 10-7pm and after that, Stevie is looking to run a series of supperclubs. Those will take place every Thursday, using produce from Stevie's own garden or The Goods Shed in Canterbury, who he teamed up with at Portobello.
It's all only temporary - due to run for a few months - so they're still looking for somewhere permanent to settle.
