Londoners have put up with a lack of loo roll and a paucity of pasta in the shops on and off over the past year or so, but will the closing of Nando's be the thing that really brings home the problems that Brexit and the Pingdemic are causing to Britain's supply chain?
In a tweet yesterday to a customer, the Peri-Peri chicken chain admitted that "The UK supply chain is having a bit of a ‘mare right now. This is having a knock-on effect with some of our restaurants across England, Scotland and Wales. We are doing everything we can to get the PERi-PERi back where it belongs – on your plates!"
They've had to close 50 restaurants so far and, judging by the reaction on social media, it hasn't gone down well...
I did hear chicken supplies are in a peri-less state.

But most of the replies focused on the one thing the Nando's tweet didn't mention - the B word.
Why isn't your supply chain suffering in Northern Ireland? Are you afraid to mention the Brexit word?

I wonder if "Nandos will close" would have swung it for Remain.

And we have to applaud KFC's response, which was admirable given the temptation to crow...
