There's one thing to be said for those huge City buildings - they really help when it comes to social distancing. Just look at the dining room at new opening Piazza Italiana, if you need proof.
This upcoming Italian restaurant is about to open its doors in the heart of the City. Set in a Grade II listed former British Linen Bank - not unlike The Ned - it's the first London opening for the restaurant group which originated in Moscow.
The menu's pretty classic Italian - so sea bass carpaccio, vitello tonnato and ossobuco. But we do note that the Italian afternoon tea sounds a bit different, with baby calzone rather than cucumber sandwiches and mini tiramisu.
As you might expect from a City opening, the wine list is going to be extensive. The restaurant's head sommelier Daniele Arcangeli won Best Sommelier of Italy back in 2015 and there are about 500 wines on the list with a whopping 40 by the glass.
