Over in Belgravia, chef and restaurateur Tom Aikens had just started to see amazing reviews come in for his new restaurant Muse, just before lockdown hit. You can read our Test Drive here.
The restaurant is almost entirely counter dining, making it pretty hard to accommodate the new socially distant rules, so it won't reopen until 3 September. But, in the meantime, he's launched a delivery service which sounds worth ordering.
On it, you'll find a mixture of ready-ish meals, which you finish off at home along with what they're calling 'sumptuous sharers' - for dinner parties or family meals, "designed to go straight into the oven or heated on the hob, no fuss."
From the launch menu there's plenty we'd like to try including:
- 24 hr Braised Short Rib - miso, honey, soy, marmite, onion tatin, salt baked beets
- Roasted Cod Fillet with shitake broth, roast cauliflower puree, ricotta gnocchi
- Yakisoba Noodles - stir-fried rye noodles, Napa cabbage, bean sprouts, pickled red ginger, toasted nori flakes, spiced peanut
- Whole Roasted Romanesco - spiced tahini, fennel seed, lemon zest, chopped pistachio, coriander
You can also get the sourdough with marmite butter they serve in the restaurant, in kit form, to bake fresh at home (pictured below), and there's a regularly changing special dish - staring with a 12 hr Herb Brined Roast Chicken with chicken jus and truffle macaroni.
Every dish comes with suggested wine pairings and - if this all inspires you to get in the kitchen yourself, Tom's also started a virtual cookery class course where a subscription gives you exclusive access to live and pre-recorded cookery classes. That's £40 to join for the first two classes, with a monthly fee of £20 after that.

Delivery radius? London deliveries within 8k from the restaurant are delivered Thursday through to Saturday. Outside that and nationwide deliveries are made on Fridays.
