If the impending arrival of Autumn (if it isn't here already) has you depressed, then we have some good news to counter that. September may mean the end of the hols and back to work, but it also means that the Salt Yard Group Croqueta Challenge is just around the corner.
We've judged it for the past few years and it's always a cracking event - bringing together some of London's best restaurants in an intensely competitive challenge to serve up the best croquetas in town.
This year, they spread the event out, starting with four neighbourhood heats being held at each of the Salt Yard Group's restaurants. Diners eating at the restaurant that night blind tested five croquetas. The best two croquetas from each heat will end up battling it out in the grand final and the winner will have their croqueta added to the Salt Yard Group’s menus for two weeks.
After all that eating and deliberating, the finalists are:
- Dehesa
- Ember Yard
- Paradise
- Inko Nito
- The Coach
- Galvin
- Bubbledogs
- Salt Yard
The Grand Final will be held at Ember Yard on Tuesday 1 October. Sadly tickets are now sold out, but keep an eye on our Instagram feed for our pics live from the event. And if you were lucky enough to get tickets, see you there!
