Need a reason to feel good about staying in town for the summer? Well how about the fact that top chef Nuno Mendes is about to start doing weekend brunches in De Beauvoir?
The Chiltern Firehouse chef will be stepping in to launch a brunch menu at his local pub, The Scolt Head. And, God, it does sound good.

Nuno Mendes' next project will be an intimate restaurant seating diners around one table in a space in Shoreditch.
It's all go at Old Spitalfields Market where Nuno Mendes has moved his Portuguese restaurant Taberna do Mercado out of its bricks and mortar spot and into the market proper. He'll then be opening a wine bar and bottle shop in the old premises.
In a post earlier this week on Instagram, Mendes said: "2018 brings quiet change, we are excited to announce that Taberna do Mercado will be moving into the Kitchens at Old Spitalfields Market...exciting times! Reinvent yourself
Some of these we've had ourselves, some we've seen being raved about on Twitter and Instagram. What there's no doubt about is that these are the dishes currently being talked up on London's restaurant scene.
Nuno Mendes almost manages to open a new restaurant on the quiet. But once news gets out, this is going to be every bit as hard to get into as Chiltern Firehouse.
