Lucky Islington residents are about to get a new coffee shop, wine bar and restaurant and an ice cream parlour, all in the space of a month or so. The three businesses by co-founders Alex Young and George de Vos are taking over the old Michael's Den pub on the borders of Islington and De Beauvoir.

Lucky Islington residents will have a very interesting new bakery on their doorstep. Quince Bakery is the brainchild of baker Anna Higham. She ran the bakery at Flor before becoming Executive Pastry Chef at The River Café. So it's fair to say she knows a thing or two about baked goods.
