Island sees two top chefs, Tom Brown and Brad Carter, come together for what might be London's ultimate surf & turf experience. We went to King's Cross to check it out. 

From steak powerhouses like Hawksmoor and Goodman to more affordable spots like Flat Iron, there's a huge choice of steakhouses in London. So we've picked some of the restaurants that we think are serving up some of the best steak in town.

Taking over the old Trader Vic's spot downstairs at the Hilton on Park Lane is a shiny new steakhouse Mr Porter. We descended the spiral staircase to check it out.

The Black Cow is something that first opened in Camden's big Hawley Wharf development, but now the Middle Eastern steakhouse is moving to Shoreditch.

Flat Iron is getting even bigger. The affordable steakhouse already has 14 restaurants in London and there's about to be a 15th - and it's also their second in Waterloo.

A year on from opening its restaurant in the City the confusingly-named Danish steakhouse KöD is gearing up to open its second place, this time in the West End.

They've taken over the site in St Anne's Place that's already hosted two restaurants that were about all things meaty, Zelman Meats and Block Soho. It's one of those spots that no one can seem to make work, so here's hoping for a more positive outcome

Flat Iron is doing very, very well indeed. The mini steak chain, originally launched by The Devonshire's Charlie Carroll, has enjoyed plenty of success over the years and it's not stopping now.

A new restaurant is gearing up to open in Clapham, taking what they describe as a 'permanent residency" inside the Aquum nightclub on the high street. Franklin & Baines is going big on steaks and has employed the services of Fernando Lerroude, previously Master Griller at The Gaucho group, as a consultant chef to show they mean business.
