• Neo Bistro's Alex Harper and more win at the 2017 YBFs

  

  To the YBFs last night, where the cream of British foodie talent crammed into the ornate surroundings of Two Temple Place to celebrate our food and drink industry. Eleven awards were announced in total, covering everything from food sharing on social media to street food.

• Moo Ping by KraPow LDN gets voted top #MyLondonDish

  Over the past few weeks, you may have seen the hashtag #MyLondonDish on Instagram. It's been part of the Mayor of London's quest to find the capital's favourite food dishes. The best were collated into a public vote - with the winner just revealed.

  Hot Dinners was down in Aldwych this morning for the announcement of the location of 2018's World's 50 Best Restaurants. So the party location was Eneko at One Aldwych, chefs in attendance included Eneko Atxa from Azurmendi; it didn't take a genius to work out that the next location would be Bilbao. It's a great spot for the awards to return to Europe, having been to Australia and America for the past two years.

• Clipstone, Phil Howard & more get awards at the GQ Food and Drink Awards 2017

  

  It seems it's ALWAYS awards season these days and the latest batch came via GQ, who last night revealed their latest Food and Drink awards in a ceremony at new Shoreditch hotel The Curtain (our invite must have got lost in the post!).

  Restaurant folk who went home with gongs included Clipstone, The Hart Bros, Phil Howard, The Fat Duck and more. Here's the full list:

• The World's 50 Best 2017 51-100 is revealed

  

  Yes, it's nearly that time again. The new World's 50 Best list is revealed next week - and that means we get a sneak peak today with the reveal of 51-100. 

  What does it mean for London on the list... well there's very little change. Lyles goes up (from 65 to 54), Hedone down (from 60 to 98) and St John doesn't move at all. So it's the very definition of "no surprises". Hopefully, there'll be more to see in the top 50 when the full list is revealed

• The Sunday Times says London is home to 37 of the best restaurants in the UK

  

  As we're more than aware of here at Hot Dinners, we're spoiled for choice by the massive range of quality restaurants London has to offer. It's something that The Sunday Times Top 100 Restaurants judging panel has noticed as well, and this year the capital is a delighted home to 37 of the best restaurants in the country. It's quite a change from 2012, when only two made the list.

  Twice a year the AA awards rosettes to the best restaurants in the country and the first set of awards for 2017 have just been released. London has four new restaurants on the list, two East London places and two more formal spots in Knightsbridge and Mayfair.
