New opening

The relatively new Hyatt Place London City East hotel (it opened mid-2021) has just opened its main restaurant. Called Zoom East, it's billed as a Sicilian Kitchen & Bar with Sicilian chef Vittorio Meli in charge of the menu (he was previously at Polpo Soho). 

On the menu will be: 

• Arancini with Carnaroli saffron rice, peas & bechamel
• Sarde

They're already a viral sensation for their Cantonese steamed buns, now Chinatown's Bun House are getting ready to bring those buns north to Camden.

Opening today in the Hawley Wharf food hall, they'll be serving up their most famous creations alongside some brand new dishes including:

• Sticky salt lime chicken nuggets
• Crispy shiitake nuggets with house ranch

He's already been popping up around London with his supper clubs, but now chef Akwasi Brenya-Mensa is getting ready to open Tatale as a permanent restaurant, housed in The Africa Centre in Southwark.

Elsewhere Coffee Roasters in Deptford (and who also have a Cafe in Herne Hill) are expanding - this time with a new cafe that's heading to Brockley.

London's cafe scene got a boost at the weekend when fashion and lifestyle brand Aimé Leon Dore opened their London flagship store in Soho. Why it's of interest to us is that it means that, like the original store in New York, London now has a Café Leon Dore.
