Sat Bains teams up with Shake Shack for a one day burger collaboration

Now this is interesting - Shake Shack have brought in Michelin-starred chef Sat Bains for a burger collaboration. It's the first since they teamed up with Massimo Bottura this time last year, so we'd say this looks like becoming an annual tradition.

The limited edition burger collaboration will be served up at the Covent Garden Shack for one day only - Friday, 9th October.

As for what's in the burger - The Major Oak (£7.25) takes its name from the famous English oak tree in the heart of Sherwood Forest close to Bains' restaurant in Nottingham. Created in a collaboration with Shake Shack culinary director Mark Rosati it features the burger chain's Aberdeen Angus beef patty and is topped with fresh shallots, a slice of creamy blue Beauvale cheese from Cropwell Bishop Creamery and a touch of pine from the needles of local coniferous trees. Bains has also come up with a special forest-inspired ketchup made of seasonal “Penny Bun” mushrooms, as well as a smoked mayo with a hint of charcoal from Sherwood Forest’s red oaks.

If you fancy the sound of it, you'll have to be quick off the mark. Just 500 of the burgers will be made and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Major Oak will be served on 9th October 2015 at Shake Shack Covent Garden, 24, Market Building, The Piazza, London WC2E 8RD. Keep up with their news on Twitter @shakeshackuk
