Portuguese restaurant Bar Douro is coming to Flat Iron Square in Borough

Portuguese restaurant Bar Douro is coming to Borough

3/11/16 - updated with soft launch info.

There's a new Portuguese restaurant in town - and it's coming to the new south London development Flat Iron Square (also soon to be home to Where the Pancakes Are). If comes from Max Graham, who's family has been creating Churchill's Port in Douro for centuries - and he's been running supper clubs around London too with Head Chef Tiago Santos.

They'll be serving up a Portuguese small plates menu which includes:

  • Croquettes de alheira (Portuguese smoked sausage)
  • Leitão suckling pig
  • Octopus with sweet potato and favas,
  • Cataplana fish stew, Bísaro pork ribs with ruby port glaze
  • Milk fed lamb Chanfana.

Plus they'll have desserts like "Fondant ‘baba de camelo", Abade de priscos pudding and, of course, Pastel de nata with cinnamon ice cream. And plenty of Portuguese wine to go along with all of that.

Bar Douro opens 4 November 2016 at Arch 35B, Union Street, Flat Iron Square, London, SE1 1TD. There's a soft launch with 50% off food from 4-5 November (no reservations, walk-ins only). For more, follow them on Instagram @bardouro
