Joe Allen to relocate itself onto Burleigh Street, floor, walls and all

West End haunt Joe Allen will be moving into a new home this summer just slightly down the road, after the current premises was bought up by Robert De Niro (who plans to open a boutique hotel in its place).

Die hard fans of the canteen (who include Jay Rayner) needn’t worry however, as little looks set to change. The canteen has pledged to take everything with them to the new address on Burleigh Street, from the wood panelling to their film posters and the bar. Their menu will also remain the same, serving up American-style classics like burgers, pulled pork, steaks and salads.

“Although we’re moving, we’re keeping everything the same - our new home on Burleigh Street will be a reincarnation of the Joe Allen we all know and love, with a couple of new additions” said Lawrence Hartley, one of Joe Allen’s custodian.

“Even the walls and the floor are coming with us,” added Tim Healy, another one of the team.

Where: 2 Burleigh Street, London WC2E 7PX

When: 21 August 2017
