Gold-plated chocolates at Saint Ayme’s first boutique cafe in Bayswater

Gold-plated chocolates at Saint Ayme’s first boutique cafe in Bayswater

What: Saint Aymes

In a nutshell: Luxury chocolate brand’s first cafe

Summing it all up: The chocolates are hand-finished in gold and colour, and you can get even gold in your hot chocolate, which should tell you all you need to know about Connaught Village’s newest cafe from luxury chocolate brand Saint Aymes.

The low-down

Take your chocolate addiction to the next, lovingly crafted, gold-plated level at Saint Aymes first boutique cafe, opening on the fittingly quaint Connaught Street.

The artisan chocs will be hand painted with edible 23ct gold and based on pictures, look exceptionally gorgeous. You’ll have the option to try Saint Aymes' cakes too, plus coffee or 23ct gold-enriched hot chocolate to wash it down for a most luxurious sugary treat. We’re particularly liking the sound of their ‘Babylon’ 70% dark chocolate salted pistachio bars, or their ‘Marie Antoinette’ white chocolate and cookie bites.

Of course, all those extra, gold-plated details don’t come cheap - a single 90g bar of their chocolate clocks in at an eye-watering £9.50 on their online shop - so we think it’s safe to assume a visit to such a regal spot will run you a pretty penny. But if you're still pondering what to do on Valentine's Day, it could be just the job for an overblown romantic gesture...
