With the Easter break on the way, lots of London restaurants are putting on some very special Easter dishes. Obviously, they're only on for a limited time, but here are the ones we think are worth hunting down...

Fortnum & Mason are putting on a special Scotch Egg stall in their food hall serving up the snack they take credit for inventing in the 18th century. You can have the free range egg covered with a layer of British outdoor-reared pork and a coat of crisp homemade breadcrumbs on its own or with a bottle of Pilsner or a glass of Muscadet from Fortnum’s wine cellar.

How much: £3.50 for the egg. Glass of Muscadet - £5.50 or bottle of Pilsner - £4.75

The latest Blues Kitchen special burger is Easter themed. The Bunny Boiler is "Rabbit & pork patty, rocket, crispy pancetta, grainy mustard aioli & melted swiss cheese, all tied up on a Hot-Cross bun."

Especially for the Easter period, Francesco Mazzei has created this fine looking brunch creation. It's his eggs and truffle dish combining baked chicken, duck and quails eggs topped with truffle shavings.

This Easter, Hoppers have created a double yolk hopper, which will be available at both sites (Soho and Marylebone). There's a catch. though... the double yolker will be served randomly to anyone who order the normal egg hopper, and if you get one, you'll also win a limited edition Hoppers t-shirt.

Hot Cross Babka

The Hot Cross Babka at The Good Egg

A yearly event - the babka is back again for 2018. It's billed as being a "Lenten spiced + fruited bun using Oded's secret family babka recipe, delicately flavoured with cinnamon, cloves and dotted with juicy sultanas, candied ginger + sweet orange peel."

How much: £32 for a large and £12 for a small

Chin Chin

Creme Egg sundae from Chin Chin

Chin Chin - purveyors of instant nitrogen-frozen ice cream have recreated a Creme Egg. This dish used half a Carbury's egg, is wrapped in Creme Egg foil and filled with a Creme Egg marshmallow ‘creme’ with a passionfruit ice cream ‘yolk’ on top.  The icing on the ‘egg’ is cured egg yolk, with a drizzle of chocolate which can be poured over the top.

Baluchi inside The LaLiT at Tower Bridge has a Maharaja Feast for Easter which is a three-course Indian meal including a spiced rack of lamb to share, carved at the table with smoked aubergine and potato chokha, beet crisp, coriander, mint and garlic chutney. But it's the dessert which gets full on Easter - cardamom shirkand with tamarind macerated berries and rasamalai crumble served in an Easter egg shell. From £60pp.

Bubblewrap has two special bubble waffles available for Easter. There's the "Bunny Bubblewrap" made of "Original Waffle Base and Vegan Dark Chocolate Gelato topped with Callebaut Milk Chocolate Crunches, Joe & Seph’s Strawberry Cheesecake Popcorn, Chocolate Sauce and a Belgian Milk Chocolate Rabbit"

And also the "Chicken Bubblewrap" which is "Original Waffle Base and Vanilla Gelato topped with Callebaut Salted Caramel Crunches, Joe & Seph’s Toffee & Apple Popcorn, Salted Caramel Sauce and a White Chocolate “Chicken" (and a Bad Brownie Egg hiding in the bottom of the waffle). Alongsde this, there will be a Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé Champagne pop-up in The Den (to mark the 50th anniversary of the much-loved Cuvée Rosé Champagne).

So this one's just for the hotel guests in their Le Chiffre bar - but sound like a must-have if you get in the door. Each one's paired with a Paul A Young chocolate - so the Raspberry Rum Delight cocktail comes with a raspberry and rose petal caramel, the Ramos Chocolate Fizz comes with a champagne truffle and the Chocolate Sazerac cocktail comes with his award-winning sea salted caramel.
