Adam Handling has brought much of his signature dishes from The Frog into his delivery service. So the chicken butter and his cheese doughnuts both make an appearance alongside bigger dishes like wellingtons and roasts. Some require more effort than others, but it all hangs together to really bring the restaurant experience home. Some unique cocktails are available too.

The Ambassador General StoreThe Ambassador General Store

In a nutshell: Gymkhana and friends

This delivery store is a Best of... experience, bringing together dishes from Gymkhana, Trishna and Brigadiers. There's a selection of ready to cook family feast experiences and finish-at-home signature dishes. To go with all that, the Daru Shop meets all drinks needs with collaboration beers and wines, as well as ready to drink cocktails, spirits and more.

Bocca di LupoBocca di Lupo

In a nutshell: Jacob Kenedy's Soho Italian

Bocca di Lupo is a Soho mainstay and consistently rated as one of the best in the area. They've introduced a monthly-changing menu, each with three new meals, delivered across London. Those meals are a combination of antipasti, mains and pasta. Dishes at the time of writing included Mozzarella in carozza,Spaghetti alle vongole and Burnt ricotta pie. Vegetarian versions are also available.

Comfort & Joy by JikoniComfort & Joy by Jikoni

In a nutshell: Ravinder Bhogal delivers joy to vegetarian Londoners

Ravinder Bhogal's Jikoni has garnered much praise and the same can be said for the restaurant's delivery service, Comfort and Joy. It's all about delivering sustainable, vegetarian meals across London - with meal boxes that change on a bi-weekly basis.

Corbin and King at HomeCorbin & King at Home

In a nutshell: The best of The Wolseley, Zedel, Soutine and more...

Corbin & King's At Home service is essentially a greatest hits menu, delivering a signature dish or two from all of their restaurants. So you can order schnitzel from The Wolseley and finish off with dessert from Brasserie Zedel. All the profits from the delivery service go to the staff, another good reason to order.

In a nutshell: Bistro to go

Cote's home delivery service got an early boost with a great review from Jay Rayner. They deliver a combination of chilled bistro meals, side dishes and desserts - or you can stock up your larder with meat from their butcher, cheeses and wines.

In a nutshell: Hugely popular Indian street food

If you can't make it to a reopened Dishoom, then they'll bring some of their best dishes to you, via Deliveroo. The menu features curries, biryani, small plates and more. And yes, the famed house black daal is also available. The menu doesn't include the bacon naan, but you can always get that delivered as a DIY kit.

Galvin at HomeGalvin at Home

In a nutshell: The Galvin Brothers deliver

Brothers Chris & Jeff are sending out a weekly changing three-course menu - choose a fish, meat or vegetarian option with dishes including lasagne of Dorset crab with beurre Nantais & pea shoots and an apple tart Tatin & Normandy creme fraiche to finish. There are even video tutorials by Jeff Galvin showing how to finish the preparation of the dishes perfectly.

In a nutshell: Middle Eastern cuisine

Honey & Co have put together weekly meals that you can pick up at their Honey & Spice deli. Recent dishes have included lamb shawarma, chicken tagine and even afternoon tea. The self-saucing chocolate cake sounds like a must too.

In a nutshell: Michelin kitchen does delivery

Hide was one of the first high-end restaurants to deliver during the lockdown, with the Ollie Dabbous-led kitchen aiming to translate the kind of cuisine you'd have in the restaurant into one which suits being sent out. Breakfast, brunch and dinner menus are available and yes, you can order their amazing birch sap croissants.

In a nutshell: Japanese izakaya

Expect exquisitely presented sushi with a twist from this Bethnal Green spot which prides itself on providing as much of the restaurant atmosphere as it can muster in a delivery - down to the curated Spotify playlist. 

Delivery Range: They go as far south as Wapping, west to Clerkenwell, north to Stoke Newington and east to Hackney Wick and Mile End. They also do a weekly drop each Saturday to an area outside the delivery zone, which they will post each week on Instagram.

If you're after the finest of fine dining experiences at home, & Home by James Knappett aims to bring his two Michelin-starred restaurant into your kitchen. The accessible tasting menus are finished by you and consist of monthly changing seven and eleven-course menus. There's also a selection of sommelier-chosen wines and Champagnes.

In a nutshell: Supper boxes delivered

Having trialled it over the summer, the Kitty Fishers and Cora Pearl teams are now doing restaurant deliveries at home. The two supper boxes are four-course meals with snacks to start and chocolates to finish. They change on a monthly basis and include such delights as Kitty's Smoked Cod’s Roe, Radishes & Crackers and Cora's Banoffee and Almond Pot.

The Laughing HeartThe Laughing Heart

In a nutshell: Big nights in

The folk at Laughing Heart - Hackney's wine cave and restaurant - say they were "inspired by our passion for Northern Chinese food & our beloved Late Night menu" to come up with their takeaway app Big Night. There's a choice of two menus - one is vegetarian - and the meal for two should be ready in minutes. They also supply wine and 'atmosphere' courtesy of candles, napery and glassware.

In a nutshell: Casual Peckham spot with an interesting wine offering

Nicholas Balfe's Peckham restaurant Levan's To Go service brings you a complete three-course 'a la carte' at home with everything from snacks and starters to main courses and desserts. It changes on a monthly basis. There's a vegetarian option and right now the seasonal menu includes a heavenly-sounding potato, oyster mushroom & Vacherin pie.

The Clerkenwell Italian from the Clove Club stable has a weekly Feasting Menu featuring both Luca favourites as well as new dishes. There's also a Deli box with a chilled bottle of vintage Prosecco, salumi, bread and more. Order wines by the bottle or case to complete your night in.

This new delivery-only restaurant from the Big Mamma Group (Gloria/Circolo) serves up amazing pizzas alongside a range of high-quality antipasti, fritti, desserts and more. There’s also a short wine and cocktail list - it’s all on Uber Eats.

In a nutshell: Jun Tanaka cooks for you

Jun Tanaka's The Ninth has two methods of delivering. First there are finished dishes from the restaurant, either as set menus or a la carte alongside individual dishes like the amazing pain perdu. Alternatively, keep an eye out for the availability of their regular boxes - currently a Mediterranean box - which has a feast to be finished off at home.

In a nutshell: Xi'an cuisine

The first solo venture from Wei Guirong, co-owner of Xi'an Impressions, may be closed to the public, but its delivery arm seems to be working to pretty much the whole restaurant menu. Order the biang biang noodles that Grace Dent described as 'emotionally stirring' or the potsticker dumplings that Giles Coren called "excellent" in his review.

In a nutshell: Weekly changing tasting menu delivered

The weekly Homing Pidgin menu for Thurs-Sunday goes live at 9pm on Sundays and is a four-course menu that changes every week (and differs from the eat-in menu) giving an at-home version of the restaurant experience. You'll always get their sourdough and brown butter, with a recent dish including "Panko fried smoked chicken thigh, mornay, broccoli with Shropshire blue & almond crumb, Israeli couscous cake". They'll also pair wines with each dish.

In a nutshell: The best potatoes in town (and much more).

Even before the lockdown, you could buy QCH's confit potatoes to go in their Farringdon deli - but the delivery arm for both that and their Fitzrovia restaurant Clipstone has branched out considerably with regularly changing menus and dishes. Most importantly, the confit potatoes, smoked cod's roe, Dexter mince and other signatures are all available. You can even order a complete QCH @ Home meal for two.

In a nutshell: BAO does delivery

You wouldn't expect any old delivery option from the folk behind BAO and Rice Error doesn't disappoint. They say it focuses on "takeaway rice boxes using Taiwan’s award-winning Chi Shang Rice, DIY BAO meals and fried chicken. The TV dinners for one are perfect for anyone currently living solo and the sides are every bit as well thought out as the rest of the dishes. Look out for guest box appearances too. And if you fancy getting their bao kits delivered, they're available nationwide.

In a nutshell: Nieves Barragan delivers top Basque tapas

Nieves Barragan's Sabor is one of our personal favourites, serving up excellent Basque cuisine in a counter setting. But while you can't currently sit around the counter, they have an inventive delivery menu that lets you get a taste of the food at home. Sabor classics are on the menu, and there's everything you need to create one of their heavenly tortillas.

The brand new delivery service from Dalston’s Snackbar is aimed squarely at the work from home market. There are some amazing sandwiches on there along with smaller items like cookies and ice-cream and a selection of Empirical Spirits cocktails and wine.
