Clapham's Willows doubles up with a new Chelsea opening (build your own boards included)

Back in 2022, Willows opened in Clapham, and it must be doing well, as they're getting ready to open a second restaurant and wine bar in Chelsea.

They're taking over a site next to the Saatchi Gallery (opening near Cafe Linea), and like the original, ot will be an all-day affair with a particular focus on breakfast and lunch. That's mainly because they have their"smorgasbord concept", which essentially lets you build your own breakfast or lunch platters. So at breakfast, your options range from banana bread with clementine mascarpone to scrambled tofu, seasonal kimchi & creamed greens. at lunch, you can build boards that include miso squash, tamarind tahini, za’atar & pumpkin seeds.

Dinner becomes more of a standard affair of small and large plates like celeriac smoked cheddar croquettes or rib-eye with café au lait & wild mushroom.

They've got a pretty impressive, near standalone space on the side of the gallery and the plan is to open the cafe and restaurant first, while the first floor will eventually open in 2027 as a wine bar. Decent bars at this end of the King's Road are a bit short in supply, so that'll be a particularly useful addition.
