Big Kid Ice Cream goes all-soft-serve with Whippies in Covent Garden

Big Kid Ice Cream, which launched in 2022, has quickly become one of the best places for ice cream in London. Now, perfectly timed for the summer season, they're taking things one step further with Whippies, their new soft-serve outlet in Seven Dials Market. 

Behind it all will be their new Vanilla Whippy, a signature serve made with organic milk, brown butter and real Madagascan vanilla, which already sounds great on its own. That's then being used in an array of fabulous sundaes, including:

• Solero Knickerbocker - Peaches, mango and passionfruit, vanilla whippy, and topped with house-whipped cream, charred pineapple and glacé cherry.
• Hot Fudge Cookies N’ Cream Supreme - House vanilla whippy covered in hot fudge sauce and crushed Oreos, topped with whipped cream, toasted hazelnuts and their Cookies & Cream Flake.
• Banana Split - Brûléed banana, house whippy, topped with a choice of chocolate fudge, solero ripple or peanut caramel and finished with roasted peanuts, charred pineapple and banana chips. 

But it sundaes aren't your thing, they will have a Big Kid Flake 99 for a bit of summer nostalgia, and they'll be making the flakes themselves. They're also looking to add collaborations and experimental "outside-the-box limited editions," so those will be worth looking for too. As a further retro touch you'll also be able to order a  "Brain Freeze" which is a take on classic slush puppies as well as ice cream floats and cocktail ice pops. 

So if you're in the Covent Garden area and the sun is shining, a trip to Whippies sounds like it'll be a very good idea.
