The City looks like the next stop for pasta restaurant Bancone

Pasta restaurant Bancone already has four restaurants across town (Soho, Covent Garden, Kensington and Borough), and now it looks like they're getting ready to open a fifth. They've just applied for licensing to open in a new development on Princes Street (down the road from Bank station and around the corner from The Ned).

If you're yet unfamiliar with them, Bancone started early in the current wave of fresh pasta bars opening across London. One of the original big features was counter dining, and while that has continued to be a big part of things, the later Bancones have been much bigger affairs. This new City venture, for example, will have a lot of booth seating and it also looks like it'll have a pretty huge downstairs private room (you really need these in the City, to be fair).

As the restaurant hasn't been officially announced, we don't know much about the food yet, but you can assume it'll be pretty similar to the other openings. So expect lots of changing fresh pasta dishes, led by their signature silk handkerchiefs "carbonara". All perfect for a good City lunch, we think.

We'll add more details when there's an official announcement.
