Popular pizza spot Alley Cats is on the expansion trail again - this time to the area that it seems everyone's trying to break into, Notting Hill.
Announcing the opening on their Instagram story feed (as spotted by Restaurant website), Alley Cats are taking over the space that was once Italian restaurant Verderame (that's a few doors down from Sunday in Brooklyn). Not much has been revealed about the space so far, but the second Alley Cats didn't stray too much in concept from the first, so we don't suppose this one will either.
Essentially, it's all about their huge 14-inch New York-style pizzas. Outside of the standard margherita and marinara, they do go a little out there with some of their creations. For instance at the moment, challenging the "no pineapple on pizza" unofficial rule, there's the Pulled Pork & Pineapple (Tomato sauce, scamorza, pulled pineapple salsa, shaved pork and nduja).
Alley Cats Pizza's popularity sees no sign of dying down, so this should be another hit for them. We'll update with more news as we get an opening date.
