ADOH! sees the Kolamba team bringing Sri Lankan street food to Covent Garden

14/8/25 - updated with the opening date

Having already launched two London restaurants devoted to great Sri Lankan food, the couple behind Kolamba are getting ready to open a much more casual affair. ADOH! (a Sri Lankan word which is used both in greeting or to express surprise) is taking over a former Franca Manca space next door to Rules on Maiden Lane. And it's much more of a quick dine and dash affair than either of the Kolamba restaurants.

Here it'll be all about kothu which, if you haven't had it before, is a dish of chopped roti, vegetables, and eggs, tossed together on a grill and finished with curry sauce. There will be four iterations of it here - crab, chicken, mutton and jackfruit.

Other dishes include

  • Chilli prawn toast with tamarind sauce
  • Fried chicken with curry leaf waffle
  • Roadside seafood fried rice.

Dessert is being kept simple with a single option of salted jaggery soft serve.

It's a walk-in only affair with room for around 70 diners. And - good news for the summer - it will also have some alfresco space.
