The City of London is about to get its second food hall in as many months as Market Place prepares to open opposite St Paul's Cathedral. The company, which already has halls in Peckham and Vauxhall (with Baker Street on the way) has got itself a two floored space on Cheapside. On the ground floor is where you'll find all the food traders and a big bar. Downstairs from that will be a cosier space with booths, a second bar and pool tables.
Joining the launch are nine food traders:
- Free Wheelin Pizza - wood fired, sourdough pizza
- OPA - gyros and halloumi fries
- Streat Latin - everything from Venezuelan arepas to Colombian empanadas
- Thai House - Bangkok-inspired street food
- Duck Shed - duck-focused menu including crispy pancakes and burgers
- Hot Scotch - Caribbean patties, fritters and jerk chicken
- Tikka Nation - Charcoal-grilled tikka and curries
- Argentinian Grill - South American asado
- Rolled - Aussie-style sushi
Opening just weeks after Boxpark City, this feels like a boom time for City workers with a whole load more options now come lunchtime and post-work.
