Having already gone down a storm with theatregoers, tourists and locals since opening their restaurant at the National Theatre, the Forza Wine team are hoping to continue that winning streak. They're gearing up to open Forza Taps, one floor below the restaurant, on the theatre's Weston Terrace.
As the name suggests, this is going to be a tap bar concept serving up drinks on tap alongside a truncated snacks menu. To that end, they winched in a trailer last weekend, craning it into position on the terrace. It's a big old space with room for around 60 diners, all enjoying great views over the river.
Drinks include a short range of wines and cocktails on tap, most of the latter coming in at a reasonable £10, so if having a negroni sbagliato watching the sun go down while Uber boats zip past is on your summer bucket list, you're in luck.
As for that food, think small no-cook dishes like tomatoes, basil and pork-grattato or courgettes with garlic and mint. And of course, there'll be one of their legendarily good custardos on the menu too.
All in all this riverside spot should be one of your key places to hit up this summer.
