For years now Winter Wonderland has been the big draw of the festive season. But this Christmas another big opening is hoping to take it on. Kingdom of Winter is going to be an absolutely massive winter 'experience' with the biggest draw being the fact that it's under cover, at ExCel.
The whole space is going to be more than 21,000 square feet. There'll be an ice rink, fairground rides, an ‘Ice Expedition’ trail, festive circus and all the alpine stalls you could wish for.
Obviously, food and drink is going to be a big part of the equation and to that end there'll be two villages devoted to it along with two multi-storey alpine chalet bars. They'll serve traditional Bavarian festive fare so think Bratwurst with mustard and onions, fried potatoes topped with melted cheeses, a range of imported German beers, artisan chocolates and sweets alongside chocolate-covered churros and traditional Ghluwein 'mit rum'.
