A Hot Dinners exclusive
Dalston has a new coffee shop that genuinely sounds like it's adding something new to the area. Its owners are Jakarta-born folk who back in 2018 opened Birmingham's "first and only independent coffee shop with Indonesian vibes".
Here in London they'll be serving coffee, light meals and beans to go. The menu, includes:
- Fried Indomie Toastie - instant noodle sandwich with cheese, corned beef and egg
- Bakso Malang - soup with beef meatballs, fried tofu, prawn wonton, and fried wonton skin
- Ayam Penyet with Rice
- Batagor - Fried bakso, prawn wonton and tofu served with peanut sauce and topped with sweet soy sauce and chili sauce
- Tahu Isi - crispy Vegetables Stuffed tofu
There's a short dessert list of options too which features the must-try Roti Bakar, a dish of thick sliced bread grilled with butter sprinkled with shredded cheddar cheese, chocolate and condensed milk.
London's coffee lovers searching for that new experience are going to find it in spades here with drinks including melon milk, iced pink banana lattes and kopi susu panas - a double shot espresso served with milk and palm sugar syrup. There are a few tables at the back to eat in, but you can also buy Indonesian beans here to take home
Thanks to Hot Dinners reader Adam for the spot.
