Residency restaurant Carousel moves to Fitzrovia, and adds a wine bar

Residency restaurant Carousel moves to Fitzrovia, and adds a wine bar

Carousel, the space from brothers Ed and Ollie Templeton that holds rotating chef residencies, is on the move. They're moving on from Marylebone to Fitzrovia, taking on a bigger space in Fitzrovia - three townhouses on Charlotte Street in total - and the bigger space means there will be a lot more to Carousel.

They'll still be the place to go to for hot chef residencies (some of London's hottest restaurants, like Kol, have started here) but alongside the main restaurant space, they'll also have a smaller space that will seat only 10 people. There, you can expect pop-ups from international chefs and they'll also be using it as an incubator for new concepts. So it might be the place to try out new restaurants before they go it alone.

They'll also have something permanent - a new wine bar that will be open all day with a menu by Ollie Templeton that will be snacks and small plates with "Mediterranean inflections".

As for the new residency area - that will all be built around a kitchen island, allowing the chef to be the centre of attention. Expect an announcement of who will be first in the kitchen closer to the opening date.
