It's fair to say it's been a while since we reported on a new opening at Canary Wharf, so it's a positive sign that today the folks behind Pergola Paddington, The Prince and Lost in Brixton have declared the wharf to be their next destination.
This summer they'll be opening Pergola on the Wharf at Crossrail Place. The huge new entertainment space is taking over the East side of the Crossrail Place Roof Garden. There'll be a large wrap-around (and heated) terrace with room for 200 while inside will be three bars, various food pop-ups, dance floors and bookable private party spaces.
There are no details on who the food traders will be just yet, but we do know there is going to be a special area devoted to "a rotating series of guest chefs, showcasing innovative dishes by street food traders from the capital and beyond".
Looking forward to the summer when, we hope, all Covid restrictions are lifted, Pergola on the Wharf will have several options for private parties (remember those?). We like the sound of one which has space for up to 150 people, with access to the outdoor terrace and an island bar. Roll on the summer!
