Following the launch of Omotesando in Fitzrovia, another high-end coffee shop % Arabica (not to be confused with the Levantine restaurant) has come to London. They're going one better than Omotesando, launching two stores almost simultaneously, in Covent Garden and Broadway Market.
It has to be said, the coffee shops look very stylish indeed - a very paired back, clean look with their signature coffee machine, a customised Slayer Espresso, the centre of attention. But it's not all about the style, of course. They produce their own coffee and their founder Kenneth Shoji is heavily involved - he "designs the stores with his preferred partners and visits coffee origins to select all of the coffee beans."
It'll offer a simple coffee menu - espresso, espresso macchiato, Americano, caffe latte, caffe mocha and their unique Spanish latte (with condensed milk). And if you're really serious about your coffee, you'll want the pure Chemex serve. The Broadway Market shop will be the flagship, with its own roaster too. And they do love putting that % logo on various goods - so expect to be able to buy a coffee cup ot two.
As for food - looks like they'll be serving up pastries from East London baker Yeast London - so expect to find treats like kouign amann and pear danishes on the menu.
