Ikoyi's Jeremy Chan takes over from the late Skye Gyngell at RHS Chelsea this year

For some people, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show will be all about the amazing floral displays and examples of horticultural excellence. Others will view it as a fabulous garden party with a rather nice flower show attached. Having been many times now, we reckon we sit somewhere in the middle, loving all the show gardens but also being very partial to enjoying the show's top-tier catering.

For many years now, the centrepiece of the show's food and drink offering was run by the dynamic duo of the late Skye Gyngell and Jose Pizarro. This year, following Gyngell's untimely death, her position has been taken by none other than Jeremy Chan. Chan, if you don't know, is the head chef of the two-Michelin-starred Ikoyi.

Dishes on Chan's menu this year include Pea, lovage & green chilli soup with a confit trout, beetroot & elderflower emulsion; Morel & wild garlic rice & sugar-cured prawns and a dessert of Cherry, pine nut and malted barley.

Chan will be joining Pizarro in the Spring Garden - an all-in culinary 'experience' which includes sit-down meals, culinary masterclasses and live music. If you fancy checking it out, take a look first at our Instagram reel from last year's event for an idea of what to expect.
