Padella is coming to Phipp Street in Shoreditch

Is Padella coming to Shoreditch?

Updated 5/2/20 with the opening date.

They're famed for having London's longest queue (and a recent visit confirmed, yes it is a very long wait at peak times) so Borough's fresh pasta restaurant Padella opening a second restaurant is very good news to those who haven't quite had the patience to wait.

If you haven't heard of them - here's a quick primer. Set up by Tim Siadatan and Jordan Frieda of Trullo in Islington, they offer a short menu of freshly made pasta dishes (and some antipasti) which are both excellent and very affordable. You can't book a table - which has led to long wait times (still worth it). Arguably, they're the restaurant that kicked off London's current obsession with fresh pasta but despite all that new competition, they're some way ahead of the pack in popularity.

The new location will still feature the classics - "Pici cacio e pepe" and "Pappardelle with 8 hours Dexter beef shin ragu" and they'll also be adding regularly changing fritti as well as classic Padella desserts. It will, as ever, be walk-ins only but there won't be an actual queue (that's being managed virtually by an app).

They'll also be moving the bakery over to Shoreditch and they're looking to sell pastries soon - we'll have more info on that later.
