Earlier this year they hit the news for turning their Newcastle restaurant into a romantic dinner a deux destination. Now McDonald's are transforming their High Street Kensington branch into a reservation-only restaurant.
The whole thing is to launch the roll-out of the burger chain's Signature Collection, and it sounds like it's aimed firmly at the Insta crowd. Anyone who books the VIP experience at High Street Ken will be welcomed into the restaurant by a string quartet, and escorted to their table. Choose from a classic, BBQ or Spicy Signature Burger - served under a silver cloche by white-gloved butlers.
The branch is also having a bit of a luxe do-over with the addition of velvet curtains, fine (burger) art and ‘diamond’-encrusted cutlery.
If you're wondering how you can avail of this treatment, they'll be opening bookings on 8 August. The actual restaurant will open on 15 August for just one day.
