Top chefs, mixologists and food suppliers are getting ready to gather at PX+ Festival

pxfestivalshot

The UK’s hospitality industry is getting together for a big celebration this summer at PX+ festival. So if you have a pal in the biz , make sure you give them a nudge about their plus one, which will give you access to all of this and more. That covers everyone from chefs to restaurateurs, food writers and suppliers too.

Unsurprisingly, given the percentage of farmers, butchers, winemakers and chefs attending, there’ll be a rather eye-watering amount of culinary treats for attendees to get stuck into, like sit down banquets and pop-up food trucks with a live music soundtrack.

Every day there will be special food experiences you can book separately and they sound really like one of a kind - so there's A Cook it raw experience - foraging trip followed by a multi course menu including wine, beers and a taste of Mezcal with chefs Claudette Zepeda-Wilkins (El Jardin, San Diego, USA), Santiago Lastra Rodriguez (former Noma, Mexico City) and Josh Pollen + Mike Knowlden (Blanch + Shock, London, UK).

Or how about a Crop Circle supper with food by Tom Anglesea and wine by Charles Mellor of The Laughing Heart?

Or book a seat at the PX+ restaurant for Fine Dining is Not Dying - featuring Mark Abbot, Midsummer House; Jonny Bone, Core by Clare Smyth; Francesco Dibenedetto, Bibendum; Ian Scaramuzza, In Situ (previously Claude Bosi) and Michele Stanco, Carpigiani (ex The Fat Duck).

Some of the other events include:

  • Audemus Spirit and a.dessert bar tasting menu
  • Rare Tea Co. green tea tasting
  • Bryce Shuman and Honami Matsumoto’s flight of sakes
  • Jun Tanaka and Kevin Burke’s 100 day dry aged beef feast
  • Kimberly Bell’s 'sensory grain tasting'

Into the evening there'll be a DJ set from Ceviche founder Martin Morales, and Chick’n’Sours’ Carl Clarke - because everyone knows requesting your favourite tune is a power move in the schmooze world.

Keeping everyone watered will be Two Tribes Beer who'll be serving their Island Records Session IPA made in collaboration with Island Records, plus their Material World American Pale Ale, and a special one-off festival brew, Mouthful of Pils.  There'll also be a very special bar courtesy of Trash Tiki and a cocktail bar run by The Experimental Group.

Plus, there’ll be industry talks, including one from us - and who’d want to miss that?! Form an orderly queue, everyone…

Tickets and the full line up of events are available on their website, but if you have a friend in the industry who’s going, don't forget, you can be their free plus one.
