"Most dishes cost under a fiver, but you’ve got to eat more of them than you’ve got fingers to get a proper feed, so I was fed up before I was fed. After a bit, I got bored. Pudding is the inevitable green-tea ice cream. Why do oriental restaurants continue to make ice cream out of green tea? Do they think we’re going to be worn down?" READ REVIEW

"Kirazu is popular with young hip Japanese. There is a feeling of fun — not always on the menu at Japanese establishments — and when the chef emerges from his kitchen at the back he looks to be enjoying himself. As you do when you achieve a place of your own and it is mainly word-of-mouth that fills it from the start." READ REVIEW

"Chef Kikuchi clearly has talent, as well as extensive training in Japanese haute cuisine (kaiseki), and years of cheffing experience racked up around the the world. He’s putting it to good use at Kirazu. We’ll be back to try more of his well-priced plates, along with an accompanying cup or two of saké." READ REVIEW
