Situated in the shade of the American embassy and billed as the unofficial US consulate in London, Philly restaurant and dive bar Passyunk couldn’t be in a better location. It’s a great place to watch key sporting events with a menu that includes a much-vaunted Philly cheesesteak along with a wide range of American beers on tap.

1 Dover Yard at 1 Hotel Mayfair, London W1J 8DJ

Dovetale is the main restaurant at 1 Hotel Mayfair and comes from top chef Tom Sellers (the man behind Restaurant Story). In a very upscale hotel environment (blessed with a beautiful hidden terrace), the food here features plenty of special creations from Sellers and has a secret weapon in the form of its Knickerbocker Glory trolley.

From the team behind Clipstone and Quality Chop House, this all day spot sets out its stall as "cooking the best produce, simply but with imagination and plenty of care". Both the main menu and wine list change frequently.

This was the third opening from the team behind Quality Chop House and Portland. The corner site has loads of natural light and serves up dishes influenced by seasonal UK produce.
