MasterChef finalist Tom Whitaker cooks this weekend at High Timber

tom whitakerMasterChef finalist Tom Whitaker may have lost out on the big trophy, but he's jumped straight back into the kitchen. The advertising exec from Putney has been spending time working at City restaurant High Timber since the final was broadcast, which is where you'll get the chance to try his food this weekend.

For one lunchtime only, on 28th May, High Timber will offer a special six course menu, including several of the dishes Tom prepared for the hard-to-impress John Torode and Gregg Wallace during the competition. Key among them will be the dish he served up in the final, stuffed saddle of suckling pig, smoky pomme purée, crubeens and a crispy pig's ear salad.

'I’m looking forward to the opportunity of serving my food in a kitchen environment, and for a busy dining room,' says Tom. 'Cooking for guests at High Timber is my next challenge.'

The special MasterChef lunch costs £75 per person. For reservations call 0207 248 1777.
