Is Pierre Koffman back in the game full-time?

No doubt bolstered by the continued success of the Restaurant on the Roof at Selfridges, which has already been extended till the end of the month, Pierre Koffman could be considering a permanent return according to Richard Vines at Bloomberg. This is certainly good news for London foodies, given that the pop-up restaurant has been given rave reviews since it has opened.  According to the release, Koffman is working with Restaurant Property and they are "looking for a suitable restaurant site for him in Knightsbridge, Mayfair, Chelsea and South Kensington."

Just about the only person not to be jumping with joy may be Marcus Wareing, whose reaction to Koffman's stint at Selfridges when we talked to him last month was: 'If I was him, I’d just enjoy retirement and put my feet up. He deserves a break. Why he’s doing this and coming back, I don’t know.'

Hot Dinners is very excited, if not terribly surprised.  We spoke to Koffman's partner, Claire Harrison, in the first week of the Selfridges pop-up and she was certainly dropping a few "no-comment" hints about a permanent return. We certainly hope she'll be on hand at the new venture and we'll be digging for some more on this news in the upcoming weeks.
