Hawksmoor duo to open second Foxlow on Stoke Newington Church Street

Hawksmoor duo to open second Foxlow on Stoke Newington Church Street

Update 9/4/15 - We popped into the soft launch of Foxlow over the weekend. The room looks great, with loads of light getting into both the ground and lower ground rooms. The outside seats (two tables of 4) will definitely be hard to grab as the weather improves (but well worth it) and the same Foxlow menu from Smithfield remains intact. We've added the pics from our soft launch below and you can check out our Test Drive of the original Foxlow here.

Speculation about the prospect of a second Foxlow restaurant from the dream team behind Hawksmoor spread like wildfire through social media yesterday. And Hot Dinners can exclusively confirm that yes, they are planning to open a second one and that it will, as rumoured, be in Stoke Newington.

The new Foxlow will take over the space formerly occuped by Homa on Stoke Newington Church Street with plans to open in April. Opening in Stokey is a return to the area for Will Beckett and Huw Gott as Will explains: "Huw and I used to live in a small flat in Stoke Newington when we opened our first place together; it was great then and it’s got even better since.

"We’ve always loved the idea of opening something on Church Street, which is one of the great neighbourhood streets in London. We hope we’ve found just the right thing; when Homa came up we knew it was for us. The restaurant is in a beautiful building and we think it’s the nicest spot on the street. We think we can do something there that the locals will be really proud of.”

Foxlow Stoke Newington is a largeish space with room for 100 diners spread over two floors with a terrace out in front. It's being designed by the same company, Macaulay Sinclair, who took on the original Clerkenwell restaurant.

Hawksmoor's executive chef Richard Turner and Lewis Hannaford will oversee the menu, which will feature the signature slow-smoked and charcoal-grilled dishes, along with lots of lighter, healthier things. We're sure their legendary brunch (Moroccan Eggs with Sobrasada Toast, Fried Chicken & Eggs with Croissant Waffles and Avocado, Chilli & Lime on Toast) will go down well with the North London massive not to mention their Sunday Roast Longhorn Beef.

Foxlow opens officially on 9 April 2015 at 71-73 Stoke Newington Church Street, London N16 0AS. Keep up with their news on Twitter @FoxlowN16To make a reservation call 020 7481 6377.
