Experimental Food Society returns with food weaponry and human cakes

Experimental Food society returns with food weaponry and human cakesLast year they brought us camel ice cream and exploding cakes - and this November the Experimental Food Society Spectacular is back for more mind-bending tricks with food.

The exhibition will take over the East Wintergarden at Canary Wharf, with plenty of edible art, interactive exhibits and tips on how to recreate some of the experiences at home.

This year among other things, you can expect:

  • To eat food weaponry by Kyle Bean - a collection of weapons made from food such as a jelly grenade, toast knuckle dusters or ice lolly explosives.
  • Carl Warner & Paul Baker will bring the Rialto Bridge from Venice to life via pasta in one of their amazing food landscapes.
  • To drink historical liquors by The Robin Collective
  • Michelle Wibowo (who created last year's dodo cake) will be creating a life-sized human cake this year.
  • Watch glasses being blown from sugar by Fernando Laposse.

As with last year, one of the key events is a banquet designed by the society and Paul Bates, Head Chef at the Cook Book Cafe with a very British influence and a special soundtrack which will take place on Monday 19 November.

The exhibition runs from Friday 16 November to Saturday 17 November and you can find out more details at their website and book tickets now.
