Maître Choux specialist patisserie arrives in South Kensington

Opening its doors in South Kensington today is specialist patisserie Maître Choux. The patisserie is the work of top pastry chef Joakim Prat, who first moved to London from Michelin-starred Can Fabes in Barcelona, to be Joël Robuchon's Head Pastry Chef at L'Atelier, before moving on to Mayfair's The Greenhouse.

Tim Anderson to host Nanban pop up residency at  United Ramen

Multi-talented chef and 2011 Masterchef winner, Tim Anderson, has just announced a two week collaboration with Islington ramen shop United Ramen.   

With a permanent home for his restaurant Nanban still in his sights, the chef has set himself a busy schedule of events in the coming month to promote his new cookbook, Nanban: Japanese Soul Food.

Polpo's next restaurant is coming to Chelsea

After going west to Notting Hill, Russell Norman and Richard Beatty's Polpo is staying west for their next restaurant, which will open in May on Duke of York Square, just off King's Road.

Hawksmoor duo to open second Foxlow on Stoke Newington Church Street

Update 9/4/15 - We popped into the soft launch of Foxlow over the weekend. The room looks great, with loads of light getting into both the ground and lower ground rooms. Truscott Arms launch the Pig Board bar snacks

Now this we do like. It's a new addition to the Truscott Arms, a bar snack called the Pig Board. It is (from the right):

  • Pork cracker - pork skin cooked, dehydrated and then fried.
  • Pigs ears - pressure cooked, sliced and cooked until crispy in oil
  • Pig's head in polenta - slow cooked over night then the meat coated in polenta cooked until golden brown
