The late May bank holiday is our last one for a while, so you need to make the most of your extended weekend. Luckily we've rounded up the best food and drinks things going on in London for the Whitsun weekend so you can do just that.


All weekend


Spitalfields - Jerk & Beyond is a brand new festival celebrating Caribbean food, island rums and music. Traders include Limin’ - serving Trinidadian street food and Baygo's ackee and callaloo fritters (below), plus there'll be tasting flights of rum and - the clincher this - frozen pineapple daiquiri slushies. 

Hackney - NT’s at Netil House is reopening its tropical terrace for the summer. There'll be live music and DJs plus Son’s Of Slice serving up their New York style pizzas and plant-based treats from Palm Greens. 

Hackney - The Mare Street Ridgeview Garden Takeover sees the English vineyard pouring their wines - Bloomsbury, Fitzrovia Rosé and Blanc de Noirs along with a specially paired food dish from the newly-opened BBQ for £20. 

Covent Garden - Petersham Nurseries are celebrating their first birthday in Covent Garden with the Floral Court Festival. There are pasta masterclasses, happy hours, wine tasting and more running all weekend - some events are bookable, others you can just turn up to. 

Brentford - Syon Park plays host to The Spanish Olive Festival - there'll be masterclasses in stuffing olives, tasting stations and - on the Sunday - a cooking demo from José Pizarro. 




Hackney - Head to Club Mexicana and The Spread Eagle for the launch of their summer Ribs and Roots BBQs. Vegan treats include Sticky Glazed Jackfruit ‘Ribs’ and ice cream sandwich with corn ice cream. There'll be special summery cocktails on offer and Guest DJ James Suckling will be providing reggae tunes. 




Elephant and Castle  - Paladar are putting on a party for the Bank Holiday Monday with live music all afternoon from Cuban duo The Latin Bridge along with a special lunch menu and tables in the courtyard if the weather plays ball. 

Soho - Chotto Matte are launching their street BBQ serving up dishes like Halloumi Teriyaki and Pollo Den Miso to Frith Street passers-by.
