Scotland's Craigellachie Hotel has a summer alfresco pop-up called Spey Shack and until now, you've only been able to try it by heading up to Speyside when the weather's decent. But now, the same team are bringing that all the way down to Covent Garden.
They'll be popping up at 3 Henrietta Street for eight weeks over summer, and they'll have the same focus on lobster rolls and burgers. Yes, that is a little similar to a certain other restaurant, but there's a focus on Scottish produce here. The lobster is caught natively in Scotland 12 miles from the hotel and the beef is Aberdeen Angus, reared only two miles from the hotel. Yes, they are travelling just a little further to London, but you get the idea.
The lobster rolls will be served with Atlantic prawns in brioche (with the option to add Oscietra caviar from River Fyne). As for the burgers, they're smash burgers in a toasted brioche bun with cheddar, lettuce and house mayo (plus one with streaky bacon and their house sauce).
Apparently, they're toying with the idea of making this permanent in London somewhere, so if you want to see a preview of that, you have eight weeks to pop in here.
