Miami's Coyo Taco comes to London, landing in St James (with a speakeasy too)

Miami's Coyo Taco comes to London, landing in St James

We've had a bit of an influx of tacos from America of late, from Trejo's Tacos in Notting Hill to Velvet Taco in the City. Now there's news of a new arrival from Miami, Coyo Taco.

In Miami, it's apparently a celeb fave - Diplo is used as an example in the press release, but Beckham, Will Smith and even Barack Obama (while president) have been in.

Their motto is "todo es fresco", meaning everything is made fresh in-house and they will apparently be pressing corn tortillas daily and smashing guacamole to order. The London menu hasn't been revealed yet, but the Miami menu features beef birria, pollo al carbon, al pastor and carne asada tacos, along with tortas, burritos and quesadillas. There will, of course, be churros too.

One of the attractions is that it's part taco restaurant, part speakeasy-style bar, called Bar Coyo, and that aspect will be coming to London too. There, cocktails are going to focus on Mezcal and they'll even have tequila lockers if you want to reserve one. It sounds like a great idea, but we're not entirely sure how it'll go down in an area that's just down the road from Parliament. Although maybe there are a few MPs who have been driven to drink these days. This is their first opening, though - expect more to follow.
