Iraqi-Iranian Logma graduates from supperclub to permanent cafe and bistro in Hackney

Set up just over a year ago, Logma became a big hit, originally running occasional Iranian supperclubs at E5 Bakehouse. It comes from Ziad Halub and his partner Farsin Rabiee, who are bringing their respective cuisines to the table for a unique Iraqi/Iranian mix of dishes.

Now they've taken the next step and have opened a permanent space in Hackney. It's starting up as a cafe with an aim to open a dining room for their bistro later in the month. They say the plan is to serve up "Iranian + Iraqi homemade comfort food we grew up with, made with organic seasonal ingredients as well as morning pastries, and really good coffee.
"

Full details of the menu are yet to be revealed, but Londontheinside has popped in and discovered kofte and aubergine sandwiches alongside stews with saffron rice, pastries and Middle Eastern coffee. They will mainly open during the day, but they'll also open in the evening once a week in a style that's similar to their previous supperclubs, with weekly changing set menus. The first menu should include dishes like a fesenjan, a pomegranate molasses and walnut stew with chicken alongside tahini buns and more.

Their supperclubs sold out very quickly, so if you've been looking for a chance to try their food, you'll want to keep an eye on their Instagram feed for when bookings open.
