They already have two big hits in Islington behind them with Goodbye Horses and The Dreamery and now the same team are on track for a third with Stable Wines.
Opening just off Essex Road, this will be part wine shop, part wine bar. Upstairs is the shop, dominated by a custom-made counter from the same ok tree as the bar at Goodbye Horses (Stable Wines is designed by the same team as that and The Dreamery). The shop will, just like their other venues, have a focus on natural wines.
Head through the shop and downstairs, you'll find the bar, housed in a former bank vault (there's a private room for eight in the vault itself). Down here, they'll have small plates like Carlington oysters with Guinness rarebit, spaghetti squash vol au vent with quince and winter truffle and pomme paissones with tuna belly and miyagawa. The cheese toastie from Goodbye Horses will also be on offer down here alongside a natural wine list.
