We get our fair share of releases about restaurants doing chef takeovers, four-handers and other partnerships. And we get it - they're a great idea to highlight the talent in London's restaurants, as well as giving chefs an opportunity to pool their creative talents. That said, it's now getting hard to make them stand out in a crowded field.
But there's an exception to every rule, and the upcoming Quality Wines & Friends series is definitely going to merit being put in your diaries. Being launched this May, it has the restaurant's chef Nick Bramham with quite the line-up of chefs jostling to take part. This will be a monthly series, taking place on Sundays when the restaurant is normally closed, and we've got the scoop on who's involved.
- 25 May: Louisiana restaurant Decatur founder Tom Zahir.
- 6 July: Michelin-starred chef Adejoké Bakare from Chishuru.
- 27 July: Sertaç Dirik, co-owner and former head chef of Dalston's finest Mangal II
- 31 August: Tiella founder and chef Dara Klein
- 28 September: French-Tunisian supperclub and residency chef Boutheina Ben Salem
- 26 October: Alevi Kurdish cook and writer Melek Erdal
At each lunch, there'll be a menu of six to eight dishes, which you can either opt to share family-style or go through the whole menu as a pair. And you can expect a range of interesting wines available to pair with each menu. Time to get all these in the diary, then.
