If you consider yourself to be something of a dumpling aficionado, then you're going to want to put 1 August in your diary. That's when Din Tai Fung are launching their brand new beef xiao long bao and Londoners are going to be the first to try it.
The new beef dumplings are being revealed at the Din Tai Fung restaurant in Selfridges on Oxford Street. They'l ll be joining the classic pork and crab and pork dumplings that the brand is so well known for here.
Elsewhere in the world, Din Tai Fung branches have other xiao long bao flavours that we won't have seen here. For example in Malaysia they offer an abalone xiao long bao along with chicken options too. And this new beef option is bound to be good news for the brand's muslim customers in London, if the beef turns out to be halal. We'll bring you more on this as we get it.
